Every AYTM statistics page is equipped with demographic filters, as well as the ability to filter by questions and answers. These filters allow you to effectively slice and dice your data through a few simple clicks.

However, sometimes there is a need to dive deeper to analyze a demographic or answer choice more narrowly. To facilitate such needs, we created special filters that can be used on any statistic page.

For instance, if you only want to see the data for respondents, age 37-38, you will need to apply the following pattern to the end of the stats page url;

Statistic Page URL: https://aytm.com/surveys/XXXXXX/stat#charts

Pattern to Append: /c1,age=37-38

Final Link: https://aytm.com/surveys/XXXXX/stat#charts/c1,age=37-38

Additionally you can further narrow by respondent answer choices. Lets say you only want to view data from respondents that selected Answer 1 and Answer 2 on Question 2; you will apply the following pattern;

Statistic Page URL: https://aytm.com/surveys/XXXXXX/stat#charts

Pattern to Append: /and-A /pattern=q2a1a2

Final Link: https://aytm.com/surveys/XXXXX/stat#charts/and-A /pattern=q2a1a2

Although, maybe you need to evaluate two different answer choices from two separate questions. Not a problem! The following pattern can be applied to reflect anyone who selected Answer 1 on Question 1 and Answer 2 on Question 2;

Statistic Page URL: https://aytm.com/surveys/XXXXXX/stat#charts

Pattern to Append: /AND-Q /pattern=q1a1q2a2

Final Link: https://aytm.com/surveys/XXXXX/stat#charts/AND-Q /pattern=q1a1q2a2

Now that we've walked through a few examples, you can move on to applying more advanced patterns to your statistic page URL as you see fit. All alternative patterns are described below;

  • /OR-Q /pattern=q1a1|q2a5 means anyone who gave the following answers: (A1 on Q1) OR (A5 on Q2).
  • /or-A /pattern=q1a1.2 means anyone who gave the following answers: A1 or A2 on Q1.
  • /ORorANDand-QA /pattern=q1a1.2q2a2a3|q3a5.6 means anyone who gave the following answers: ((A1 or A2 on Q1) AND (A2 and A3 on Q2)) OR (A5 or A6 on Q3)
  • /And/or/OR-B* /pattern=q4b1a4.5b2a5|q5b4a2.3 means anyone who gave the following answers: (A4 or A5 on sub-question 1 and A5 on sub-question 2 of Q1) OR (A2 or A3 on sub-question 4 of Q5). Note - "B*" stands for batch.
  • /A and NOT B  /pattern=q1a1-2  means anyone who selected Q1A1 and not selected Q1A2.

Please note:

  • “&” sign between the conditions is automatically replaced with %7C in the URL
  • When you use custom age filters in the URL they will not be mimicked in the sidebar.
  • Custom filters will update the charts but will not populate in data tables under the charts on the page if you break the stats page by age.
