Collaborate with your team or client using aytm's Comments feature. Comments can be added at the overall survey level or attached to individual questions. Anyone to whom you grant access to a Survey Editor page (through share links or as an aytm Account Team Member) will be able to review and add their own comments.
Navigating the Comments Pane
- On the Survey Editor page, click the Comments button in the Collaboration Tools menu on the right side of the page.
- Click the magnifying glass icon or type keywords into the search bar to find specific comments and replies.
- Select the checkmark icon to view Resolved comments and replies.
- Click the bookmark icon to view comments and replies Saved for later.
- Click any icon a second time to return to All Comments.
⚠️ Note: As you add or rearrange questions, comments stay assigned to the question they were first attached to. If a question with a comment is removed, the comment moves to the bottom of the pane under Deleted comments.
Leaving Comments
- Click the Comments icon to the right of a particular question, or the Comments button in the Collaboration Tools menu on the right side of the page.
- Click Add new to attach an overall comment to the survey, or click the comment icon next to a specific question to attach a comment to it.
- Click Write reply to reply to a comment and start a thread associated with a question.
- Click the right-pointing arrow to expand or collapse a thread of replies.
- Click the send icon or Ctrl+Enter on your keyboard to publish a comment or reply.
- Click the emoji icon to assign an emoji reaction to a comment or reply.
Managing Comments
If you are the author of a comment:
- Click the ellipsis that appears on hover to Edit or Delete the comment.
- Click the checkmark icon to Mark as Resolved.
- Click the bookmark icon to Save for later.
- Click Write a reply to start a thread associated with a question.
- Click the emoji icon to assign an emoji reaction.
💡 Tip: Comments tagged as Resolved or Saved for later can be filtered using the icons along the top of the pane. See Navigating the Comments Pane above.
Receiving Feedback with Comments
- Click the download icon in the left menu pane next to Quick Preview.
- Click the Generate button in the Collaborate section of the tab.
- Click the same button — now labeled Copy.
- Share the copied link with those from whom you wish to receive comments.
Exporting Drafts with Comments
- Click the download icon in the left menu pane next to Quick Preview.
- Check the box next to Comments (if not already checked).
- Click the dropdown to select Word or PDF, and click Download.
Permissions in the Survey Editor Comments Pane
Here's an overview of what different users can do in the Comments pane:
- Survey Owners (Editors): Full control over all comments — create, edit, resolve, unresolve, delete, and reply. Can also copy and export drafts with comments.
- Users with Editing Permissions: All functions except editing others' comments — create, resolve, unresolve, delete, and reply. Can copy and export drafts with comments.
- Survey Viewers with aytm Accounts (No Editing Rights): Can create, edit, resolve, unresolve, and delete their own comments. Can reply to all comments and copy/export drafts with comments.
- Guest Viewers: Same permissions as survey viewers for their own comments, but cannot resolve, unresolve, or delete others' comments.
