Ask your respondents to take a picture for you with the image response question type. In addition to your question, you can provide an image or additional instructions for context, and respondents can use their phone or webcam to snap a photo or upload an image as their response.

1. Building Image Response Questions
- In the Survey Editor, click the Image Response Icon in the question menu, or drag the icon into place.
- Type or paste your question into the Question field.
- Provide additional instructions in the Instruction Text field, or click the Add Instructions dropdown menu to select Upload Image or No Context.
- Check the Optional checkbox to allow respondents to skip the question.
- Check the Upload Only checkbox to require an image upload rather than a live capture.

2. Using QR codes
The QR checkbox is most commonly used in List surveys. When checked, respondents can directly scan a QR code from a product package or enter the product code manually.
- Activate the QR Code Checkbox.
- Activate the Allow Manual Entry checkbox, if you would like to allow respondents to alternatively type in a code.

3. Analyzing Image Response Questions
- On the Results page, click the Image Response icon on the right side of the question header, or at the top of the page to open the Image Response with all image responses.
- Click on an image thumbnail to see the full image.
- Click the down arrow in the top right corner of a thumbnail to download it, or click the Download button next to the question filter to download a zipped file of all image responses.
- Click the Open Response link relative to an image to interact with the response and the respondent; view the respondent's demographic traits, view all their qualitative responses, give kudos or reject their data, or assign a tag to a response.

4. Sorting Image Responses
Click on the Sort by ID drop-down to change the order in which images are sorted. Select from:
- Sorted by ID - sort images by the respondent ID
- Sorted by time - sort images by the date and time a respondent completed the survey.
- Sorted by similarity - when filtered to a single question, sort images by their similarities using AI technology.

5. Tips and Tricks
When considering including Image Response questions in your survey, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
- Added cost: When using the Image Response question, an additional tech fee will be charged per response: $1.50 for a Panel survey, $0.50 for a List survey.
- It is against our Terms of Use to ask respondents to share any personally identifiable information in surveys, even in an image.
