Skipper Report is an AI-generated report that automatically appears in the Automated Reports section of the Stats page once a survey is completed. It generates a set of research questions covering the survey and analyzes them to produce insights and advanced data visualizations—Virtual Questions (VQ) and Correlation Finders (CF), plus a Concept Lab comparison for concept-test surveys.

Accessing Skipper Report

1. Click Reports in the left sidebar.
2. Select Skipper Report under the Automated Reports section. The report will automatically populate with advanced data visualizations and insights.

⚠️ Note: Skipper Report begins generating only when the survey is marked as completed and all supporting analyses (MaxDiffs, VanKonans, Autocoding, etc.) have finished. Once these conditions are met, the report is available within 60–90 minutes.

⚠️ Note: Skipper Report also requires a minimum number of completed responses to generate. Most surveys need at least 100 completed responses; surveys that include MaxDiff, Conjoint, or similar advanced question types need at least 20 completed responses. If a survey doesn't meet this threshold, the report will indicate there isn't enough data yet.

Working with Skipper Report

A Skipper Report is organized into two main sections. Each Storytelling Note—except Follow-Up Suggestions—contains working links that scroll directly to supporting charts.

1. Fixed Storytelling Notes—narrative notes providing context, key findings, and recommendations:
   • Background and Methodology—how the survey was structured and conducted
   • Executive Summary—a high-level overview of the most important results
   • Additional Considerations—supplementary insights relevant to your survey objectives (title may vary)
   • Key Findings—a deeper dive into the most significant patterns and takeaways
   • Follow-Up Suggestions—closing recommendations for next steps
2. Charts Section—data visualizations including Concept Lab (where applicable), Virtual Questions, and Correlation Finders for each Research Question.

Each storytelling note has its own "Show image on a separate slide in PPTX" setting, which controls how that note exports to PowerPoint. In a system-generated Skipper Report, this setting is turned on by default for three notes— Executive Summary, Background and Methodology, and Additional Considerations—so each exports as a full-bleed infographic slide followed by a text slide. ⚠️ Note: Skipper Reports are view-only and cannot be edited directly. To make changes, save the report under a new name—the copy will appear under Other Reports where it can be freely modified. Skipper Reports also can't be deleted, and their position in your Reports list is fixed among the other Automated Reports.

💡 Tip: When you save a Skipper Report under a new name, each storytelling note keeps its own PPTX export setting. That means Executive Summary, Background and Methodology, and Additional Considerations keep their full-bleed infographic layout in the copy, even though it's now an editable report.

Infographics

When a Skipper Report runs, it automatically generates infographics to present data more visually. Infographics appear in three sections:

• Background and Methodology
• Executive Summary
• Additional Considerations

If the survey includes concept images, those images will be incorporated directly into the infographic.

Exporting Skipper Report

Skipper Report supports all standard export formats. For the best experience, we recommend exporting as a PowerPoint file (.pptx).

1. Click the Export icon in the left menu of the Results page.
2. Click the gear icon to the right of Presentation and select PPTX (default).
3. Check the boxes to include a Link to this report, Methodology slide(s), New Survey Link, Survey images, and Survey Preview link.
4. If your Account Manager has uploaded a custom branded template, select it under Export template. This will set it as the default for all future Presentation exports across all surveys.
5. Click Export to initiate the download.

How Storytelling Notes Export to PPTX

Each storytelling note's "Show image on a separate slide in PPTX" checkbox—found on the note itself, next to its uploaded image—determines how that note is laid out in your PPTX export:

In a system-generated Skipper Report, this setting is on by default for the Executive Summary, Background and Methodology, and Additional Considerations notes—which is why these three export as infographic-style slide pairs. All other notes follow the standard off default unless you turn the setting on yourself.

💡 Tip: This setting travels with each note if you save a Skipper Report under a new name. If you'd rather have a note export as a single image-and-text slide, or want a note that's normally single-slide to export as a full-bleed image plus text slide, just toggle its checkbox before exporting.

Limitations

Certain complex question types cannot be represented in Skipper Report using Virtual Questions or Correlation Finders. For these, Skipper generates a brief summary and displays the rest of the question as it appears in the original report. Affected question types:
