List Survey Sample Validations
When you click the settings wheel at the top of a List Survey Editor page, you'll see four setting options that can reduce the likelihood of repeat respondents.
Limit answers from the same Internet Connection (by IP address)
If you would like a more even geographic distribution of the respondents, or would like to reduce the possibility of one person taking the survey multiple times from the same location, set a tighter IP limit. However, keep in mind that you might be preventing answers from people sharing the same IP in an office, campus, web cafe, or similar shared-network environment. |

Limit answers from the same Device (by browser cookies)
You can limit the number of times your survey can be taken from the same browser, using browser cookies. By default we set it to “unlimited” so that researchers can accept unlimited numbers of responses at a single kiosk or device. If you have a large list and want to enforce a better distribution and prevent anyone from taking your survey several times to skew the results, check the box, and choose 1. Other choices (2-5) are for situations when you have several people working from the same device/browser and you do want to accept their responses. |

Note: When enabling UUID controls, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Support team!
Allow only 1 answer from the same UUID
We'll monitor any unique user identifiers (UUIDs) you add to survey links after the "?uuid=" parameter. For example, if your survey URL is https://aytm.com/fHm6juj, you can customize it for respondent "A" by adding "?uuid=A" at the end, so that the full URL for this user becomes https://aytm.com/fHm6juj?uuid=A. We'll record the values for each respondent ("A" in this example) in the raw survey data, which you can download from the stats page. When this limit is enabled, once the survey is completed by someone with a given UUID, the survey will appear closed to anyone opening the survey link with the same UUID. With this checkbox on or off, we'll use the UUID feature to help complete interrupted sessions. For example, if a respondent started taking a survey on their mobile device while commuting from work, we'll place them right at the last unanswered question when they open the same link from their home computer. |

Don't record responses without UUID
We'll monitor any unique user identifiers (UUIDs) you add to survey links after the "?uuid=" parameter. For example, if a survey URL is https://aytm.com/fHm6juj, you customize it for respondent "A" by adding "?uuid=A" at the end, so that the full URL for this user becomes https://aytm.com/fHm6juj?uuid=A. We'll record the values for each respondent ("A" in this example) in the raw survey data, which you can download from the stats page. If you check this option, you will be required to add a UUID variable for each respondent. Attempts to take the survey without a UUID at the end of the survey URL will be terminated with a "Survey is closed" message. Enable this only if you know what you're doing. |
