Skipper Draft: FAQ
Q: Is Skipper “learning” from my surveys, or the text that I enter?
We do not use the specific content of your surveys or text inputs to train Skipper at this time. But, we do store this data internally for the purpose of providing our service, troubleshooting issues, and improving our platform. Please refer to our updated Terms of Use and Privacy Practices, and reach out to your Account Manager if you have any questions!
Q: What language model is Skipper using?
We are AI-gnostic. We experiment with and use a number of leading LLMs, including Claude through Anthropic and OpenAI's ChatGPT via our Azure hosting environment. More details about our subprocessors can be found here.
Q: What if I accidentally click the X and delete Skipper?
No problem! Just delete the three default blank questions in your survey to bring Skipper Draft back.
Q: What if I don’t like what Skipper Draft came up with?
That's okay! No doubt, you'll want to edit or even remove some of the questions even if you do like most of the survey. If you'd like to start over entirely, just delete all the questions and re-enter your prompt into Skipper Draft. Skipper will treat the prompt as if it's new, and may come up with different questions this time. The initial draft will be retained in your survey history, if you want to go back and compare or clone some questions.
Q: Does Skipper replace my value as a researcher?
Absolutely not! Skipper is simply a tool to help you get started and save time during survey creation. Ever had writer's block? Think of Skipper as a way to help you overcome that at the start of your study creation by bringing in relevant angles, topics, and questions you may want to consider including in your study. While Skipper relies on a collective experience of aytm researchers to suggest survey drafts based on best practices, it is always recommended that another set of (human) eyes go through your survey to ensure cohesiveness, and that your study goals are being met.
