Searching Codes
Search by codes that have been created and added to your comments in open-ended questions. Use the search field at the top of the stats page to search comments by plain text, by response ID, and by code.
- From the Open Ended results page, click the Search field to access a drop-down pre-populated with any codes already added.
- Select from the items in this drop-down, or (for larger lists) start typing the name of the code.
- Press Enter, and any results with that code will come into view.
Creating a custom filter with Codes
Once a code or codebook is added, it will behave like a variable in the logic within Custom Filters.
- With a search query in place, click the ellipses to the far right of the toolbar.
- Click Create filter to open the custom filters advanced logic field. Notice, there's now a variable in the logic that will let you assign or reload the data by codes.
If you have a code pre-populated in the search field, this will appear in the logic. On the other hand, you can add the advanced logic yourself. This advanced filter is available in the open-ended interface; it will globally filter the entire survey and enable you to create a custom report. This logic is also available in the filter icon outside of the open-ended interface allowing you to filter the entire dataset by these codes.
