Building a Findability test in Shelf Test

Shelf Test settings can be optimized for findability exercises, preventing respondents from changing their mind and reducing the number of clicks it takes for respondents to complete the exercise.

Auto-advancing respondents

Above your product list, you will find a drop-down menu, which presents the options of Shopping mode or Findability mode. In Shopping mode, respondents will be able to place items in their cart, as directed, while in Findability mode, respondents will be pushed to the next question when they make a selection.

  1. Click the Shopping Mode drop-down menu and select Findability Mode.

With this parameter set, when a respondent clicks on a product, their selection will be recorded, and they will auto-advance to the next question.

Optional Price tags

  1. Click the Product Settings drop-down menu.
  2. Uncheck the box next to Show product prices to remove the price tags from respondent view.
On the Results page, the statistics for Average cart spend and Total price spend will display as N/A.
