Having a draft is helpful as a clean overview of your survey to share with colleagues or as a way to review and spot areas that need editing. Downloading your survey draft gives you access to the question and answer text along with any logic and thumbnails of images used. You can also use survey drafts to upload to a new survey as a template (see Upload Survey Draft).
The aytm platform exports survey drafts in Word format, and they can be accessed and shared in several ways.
Export from Your Dashboard
- Click the settings wheel icon on the right side of the survey's row in your Dashboard.
- Select Save as word (.docx) to initiate the download.
Export from the Survey Editor
- Click the arrow icon in the left menu bar.
- Follow the prompts in the Download/Email Survey Draft menu to print or save a copy to your hard drive.
From this popup window, survey drafts can be shared in several formats:
- Check the boxes next to Include [aytm Logic markup], Order details, and Comments to customize the document for download.
- Click the dropdown to select Word doc file or PDF, then click Download to save to your hard drive.
- Type or paste up to 10 emails in the Share draft by email text field and click Send to share the document directly from the platform.
Collaborate Links
- Click the arrow icon in the left menu bar to open the Download/Email Survey Draft panel.
Beneath Collaboration, you can generate review links, translator links, and preview links:
- Click Generate next to Get Reviewer & commenter link to create a link for someone to review your survey and leave comments on the draft within the platform.
- Click Generate next to Get corrector/translator link to invite someone to edit the text of the survey only and add comments. They will not be able to edit the survey structure (add, modify, or remove questions/answers, or rearrange order).
- Click Copy next to Survey Preview link to generate a preview link to share with others, allowing them to view as a respondent.
- Check the box next to Enable researcher preview tool to activate Smart Preview, which extends the full functionality of Quick Preview (Researcher Mode and Ghost Mode) to anyone with the link.
All of these options let you share your survey draft and collect feedback or test logic before fielding the survey.
Export from the Results Page
- Click the Export icon in the left menu of the Results page.
- Select Survey Structure — a dropdown menu will appear with options to download: Survey draft in doc, Survey draft with comments, and Open draft in a new window.
- Exporting generates a file including all the data accumulated from your survey. Once downloaded, you can print your survey draft along with any logic and thumbnails of images used.
