How to Create an aytm Account

Creating an aytm account is free and required before you can start building a survey. Registration is quick—complete a short form, then activate your account using the email we send you. Once activated, you can start building and saving your survey.

Creating Your Account

Everything happens on a single page. Work top to bottom and the form fills in a few things for you along the way.

  1. To open a signup page, click Get Started For Free from our home page.
  2. Enter your first name, last name, and email. A work email is preferred over a personal one—we'll use its domain to fill in your company for you.
  3. Create a password, or click Autogenerate and we'll build a strong one for you. Use the eye icon to check what you've typed. As you type, we rate the password's strength and let you know if it's one of the more commonly used ones.
  4. Confirm your Company and add your Job title. Both are required—Company may already be filled in from your email.
  5. Have a promo code? Click Have a promocode? and enter it. We check it as you type, and a green checkmark means it's good to go. If you arrived from a referral or campaign link, the code is filled in for you.
  6. Check the time zone shown below Job title—we detect it from your browser. If it's wrong, click Change? and search for yours.
  7. Tick I've read and agree to the Terms and Privacy. 
  8. Complete the security check above the buttons. It confirms you're not a bot and usually clears on its own.
  9. Click Create aytm account.

Activating Your Account

Submitting the form signs you in right away, but the account isn't active yet. You'll land on a Thank you for registering! page and stay on it until you activate. We email you an activation code the moment you register, and there are two ways to use it.

  • From the email—click the link inside. That opens a page with your code already filled in, so all that's left is to click Activate your account.
  • From the page you're on—copy the activation code out of the email, paste it into the Code field, and click Activate your account.

Either way, the last click is yours. The link on its own doesn't activate the account, and each code works once.

 

If the Email Doesn't Arrive

Check your spam folder first—the page shows the address we sent it to. You can also click Resend activation email; it's available once a minute, and the button counts down until you can use it again. If it still doesn't arrive, use Contact support on the same page.

Once your account is activated, you'll see a welcome message. Click Get started to open a new survey and begin building. If you registered through one of our pricing pages, you'll be directed to the appropriate next step for your selected plan.

⚠️ Note: Activation codes are good for 30 days. If yours is older than that, use Resend activation email to get a fresh one.

Messages You May See

A few things the form may tell you while you're filling it in:

What you'll see What it means
You're already on board! That email already has an aytm account. Follow the Log in instead? link, or reset your password if you've forgotten it.
Company email preferred You've entered a personal address such as Gmail or Yahoo. It's only a suggestion—you can register with it.
An invitation instead of a form A colleague has invited you to their aytm team, so the form shows their invitation rather than creating a separate account. See the next section.

If You've Been Invited to a Team

If there's a team invitation associated with your email address, you'll see the invitation details when you enter your email, including who invited you, the team you're joining, your role, and the features included with the team's plan.

To join a team, use the secure link in your invitation email. You won't be able to register separately using the same email address while an invitation is pending.

Can't find the email? Click Resend Invitation to receive a new one. If you don't recognize the invitation or don't want to join the team, click Decline.

 

⚠️ Note: Surveys you create under a team account are fully accessible to that team's admins.

Good to Know

Signing up on a phone or tablet Registration and activation both work on mobile. Building and analyzing surveys needs a desktop browser.
Your company signs in through SSO Register as above. When you activate, we'll hand you to your identity provider to sign in, and your provider manages the password from then on.
You reach aytm through your company's own aytm address Those pages don't offer self-service signup. Ask your team admin to invite you, or sign in through your provider.
