Want to test how your survey results might look before collecting real responses? Before survey launch, users with an Enterprise plan may use Artificial Response to generate an example report with randomly generated "faux" data for an in-depth preview.
Artificial Responses are generated by completely random choices, and any open ends are generated using random text from novels in the public domain. With this tool, dig into your data analysis in advance of launching your survey and make sure you'll get what you want from your data based on your survey design. You can even set up custom reports or virtual questions in advance and export data and reports. When you're done testing and launch your survey, the Artificial Responses disappear, but your report structure will remain.

Activating Artificial Responses
- From the Survey Editor, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the advanced settings menu.
- Click on the Generate Artificial Response button. Note: If you have any validations on your survey — errors or limits that wouldn't allow you to launch — you will not be able to populate Artificial Responses. You will need to clear the validations to proceed.
- Once you click Generate Artificial Responses, the platform will start building a results page, and a button to open the report page will appear. Click this button to open the results page with artificially generated data. This report page has the same functionality as our normal data reporting analysis. Create reports, filter questions, answers and traits, create Virtual Questions, and more. You can even share this "faux" results page with your team. When you launch your survey, this report page will keep its structure and replace the artificial data with real survey data as the survey fulfills.
