Analyze Results During Fielding
You don't have to wait for your survey to close. As soon as responses start coming in, you can open the Results page and start analyzing. The page doesn't update on its own, so click the refresh icon at the top of the page to load the latest responses.
Open the View tab in the left sidebar to change how your results are displayed:
- Default chart type—choose Auto, Pie Chart, Column Chart, or Bar Chart for the whole report.
- Tables only, no charts—hide the charts and work with the numbers only.
- Split all charts by a demographic—break down every question by a trait such as gender or age to compare how answers differ between groups.
Filter, Color, and Export Your Results
Click the Filters tab to focus on a subset of respondents. Select demographics, answers to specific questions, or other variables, then click Apply filters. All charts and tables on the page recalculate for the selected respondents. Click Release filters to return to the full sample.
Click the Colors tab to change the color palette of your charts.
Click the Export tab to download your data. Options include:
- Response level data—Excel, CSV, SPSS, or JMP
- Summary data—Excel
- Banner tables/Crosstabs—Excel
- Presentation—PowerPoint (PPTX), PDF, or Keynote
- Other options, depending on your plan and settings (see Note below)
⚠️ Note: Some features depend on your plan. Banner Tables, significance testing, and the Word Cloud settings panel are available on all paid plans. SPSS and JMP exports require Enterprise plan. If a feature isn't included in your plan, it appears grayed out with an upgrade message. White labeling (sharing reports under your own subdomain and logo) is set up by aytm on request. To learn what's included in your plan, reach out to our team.
Open-Ended Responses and Customizable Word Clouds
Answers to open-ended, combobox, cascade, and Conversation AI questions can be viewed as an interactive Word Cloud. Closed-ended questions with 20 or more answer options can also be switched to a word cloud.
Each word cloud includes:
- Text clean up settings—hide common English words, numbers, and one-letter words, or hide any specific word under Hide other words. You can also fix misspellings, merge similar words, and show 2-word phrases.
- Word frequency table—the most popular words and how often each one appears.
- Word proximity—click any word to see the words that appear most often alongside it.
- Design controls—color palettes and custom colors, fonts, ready-made Preset themes, aytm-designed shape masks or your own uploaded mask, and a portrait or landscape Orientation.
These controls are in the Word Cloud settings panel, which is available on all paid plans.
Share Reports with Colleagues and Clients
You can save different reports of your data. Each report keeps everything you've set up, including chart types, colors, applied filters, and which questions are expanded or collapsed. Each report can be renamed, emailed, or shared through a link. Report links contain a secure key, and anyone with the link can view the report, even without an aytm account.
- Click the Reports tab in the left sidebar to see all your reports.
- Click the gear icon next to the report you want to share. The Manage report window opens.
- Under Report link, click Generate to create a link. You only need to do this once per report.
- To copy the link, click Copy next to the link.
- To share by email, enter up to 10 email addresses and click Invite.
💡 Tip: By default, people who open a shared link can view the report but can't change filters or view options or export the data. To stop sharing a report, click the × next to its link to delete it. The old link stops working right away, and you can generate a new one at any time.
