Terminate Logic
While it is a best practice to terminate respondents using Prequalification Questions, it is possible to enact Custom Terminate Logic, which allows users to terminate respondents within PQs or in the first three questions of a survey, based on specific demographic requirements, or survey answers. However, in order to enact this logic on DIY surveys, users must complete the Custom Quota Logic course in the Lighthouse Academy.
As you're writing Terminate logic, keep in mind that in order to accurately enforce the commands, the logic must be written in questions that all relevant respondents will see—i.e. questions that do not contain hide or skip logic.
Terminate Logic
Terminate Logic is a way of ending a survey for a respondent if they do not meet certain criteria. A respondent who is terminated from the survey in this way will not count toward the desired sample size, which only includes those who complete a survey. Terminate Logic may be placed in PQs, or within the first three questions of the main body of the survey (most commonly in single choice, multiple choice, and matrix questions). In the following example, respondents who had both purchased Brand A in the past, but more than 7 months ago (from Question 1), and also plan to purchase Brand a more than a year from now would be disqualified from this survey. |
