Quota groups let you control the demographic mix of your sample—setting the proportion of responses you want from each group directly on the Target Market page.

Setting Up Quota Groups
- On the Target Market page, scroll to Demographic Quotas. Quota Groups is selected by default.
- Use the sliders and drop-downs to set the demographic traits for your first quota group.
- Click Add at the bottom to create an additional quota group, then repeat steps 2–3 for each group you need.
- To change the proportion of responses from each group, click the text box next to the group name and edit the number or percentage. The other groups adjust automatically to keep your totals balanced.
- Optional: toggle the view between count (N) and percentage (%) above the groups for easier reference.
- When you're done editing quota proportions, close the quota group editor.
💡 Tip: To reset all quota group proportions back to default, click the lock icon.
Using US Census Presets
Instead of creating custom quota groups from scratch, you can use the US Census quota presets drop-down. These preset templates automatically align your sample to census proportions for common age ranges—a quick way to ensure demographic balance without building groups manually.
Common Setup Pattern
If you want to collect equal responses from each segment of a single trait—for example, equal numbers from each age group—here's an efficient approach:
- Click Add to create a second quota group.
- Set the demographic filter for that group (for example, a different age bracket).
- Repeat for each bracket you need.
- Set each group to the same target percentage (for example, 25% each for four age groups). The system will automatically balance them.
Cloning Quota Groups
If you want to reuse the same quota structure for multiple surveys, you can clone a quota group setup after you've created and configured it. Close the quota group editor first, then use the clone option from your survey's quota management interface.
