Use the Target Market page to start a new survey or check the feasibility and price for a potential study. The Sample Complexity Meter in the upper left corner provides real-time feedback based on your targeting selections. aytm offers targeting capabilities, a delivery deadline guarantee, and access to over 100,000,000 respondents worldwide, with real-time quotes available the moment you're ready to launch.
Delivery time is guaranteed by aytm in most cases, assuming you launch within the indicated timeframe and don't use custom prequalification questions. If a survey runs longer than promised, you'll have the option to stop and receive 110% of the remaining prorated amount credited to your aytm account.
Title & Research Type
The survey title on this page is an internal title only — respondents will not see it. Click the Research Type dropdown to select the type of research for this survey. To survey your own email list, website visitors, or social media followers, refer to the List Survey section below.
Countries & Languages
Language selection affects price and availability, as your survey will be sent to people fluent in the selected language. Choose from over 50 countries and 30 languages, or field to a worldwide panel of English-speaking internet users.
Premium Profiling
Narrow down survey invitations by selecting from over 2,300 aytm Premium Profiles — psychographic and behavioral characteristics covering health, media use, hobbies, purchasing habits, brand awareness, and more. When adding multiple Premium Profiles, choose either an and or or operator between them.
Incidence Rate
Though not required immediately and editable later, an Estimated Incidence Rate must be entered before you can launch your survey.
Demographic Targeting: Quota Groups
Adjust demographic trait requirements and create custom quota groups, or use preset groups from US census data. For geo-targeting, choose among regions, states, counties, metro areas, and ZIP codes. Metro area options include Combined Statistical Areas (CSAs), Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs), and Micropolitan Statistical Areas (μSAs) per US Census classification. The platform includes real-time ZIP code validation and a ZIP code radius tool.
Demographic Targeting: Quota Balancing
The following demographics are automatically included in every Panel Survey targeting US consumers — no need to ask about them separately in your survey. For surveys fielded outside the US, age and gender balancing is available based on individual country census data.

The included set of traits may vary by country. If you have demographic quotas, you can balance by up to two nested quotas.
Device
Sometimes it's important that respondents complete a survey on a specific device — for example, mobile for ad testing to replicate real-life scenarios, or desktop for a Shelf test where smaller screens aren't a good fit.
If Mobile or Desktop is selected and a respondent accesses the survey on the wrong device, they'll be prompted to switch.
Custom Quotes
If your target audience is narrow enough to require a special effort to source respondents, you'll be prompted to request a custom quote. A dedicated project manager will help you get results as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
Excluding Past Respondents
Click the dropdown at the bottom of the page to select previously run surveys whose respondents you'd like to exclude from this one. Reach out to us if you need to run concurrent, mutually exclusive surveys.
Number of Completes (Sample Size)
Set your number of completes to determine how many people will take your survey — from as few as 50 to as many as 10,000. If you need to launch concurrent surveys with mutually exclusive samples, or send a follow-up survey to the same respondents, contact support and we'll set it up on the back end.
List Survey Overview
At the top of the page, select Your own list as the source of responses — for when you already have a group of people ready to take your survey, such as customers, employees, opted-in subscribers, social media followers, or website visitors. Upon launch, you'll receive a survey link and an embed code to direct traffic to your survey.
Language — choose from the dropdown. It affects both the user interface and the language in which demographic questions are presented.
Privacy Jurisdictions — if you are GDPR certified, you can collect responses from within the EU. If not, you'll see a link to learn more. Note: List surveys may not be fielded in China due to privacy laws.
Sample Size — the number of responses included in your plan varies. Moving the slider beyond your included threshold will display the cost for additional completes. Reach out to learn what's included in your plan.
Prevent Repeat Answers — click the gear icon at the top right to limit responses by IP address and device using cookies. This helps prevent duplicate submissions or provides better geographic distribution by capping responses from the same network. Reach out to confirm if this feature is included in your plan.
UUIDs (Unique User Identifiers) — if using List Surveys with an external panel and need to pass UUIDs or other user-specific information through a URL to augment statistics with your own transactional data, you may need to upgrade your membership. Once enabled, add ?uuid= at the end of your survey link before distributing it, and enter any unique URL-safe characters after the equal sign. Every respondent's unique identifier will be recorded alongside their response.
Saving & Resetting
At any time, click Save to save your settings, Write Survey to save and proceed to the survey editor, or Reset Target Market to completely reset the page to organic fielding.
